Whenever I am scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed I always find myself stopping to watch all of the Tasty videos – anyone else? Similar to Pinterest projects, I feel like some of them look WAY easier than they actually are. If there were really that simple – we would all be cooking that way! So I decided to try out one of the “simple” recipes and see if it actually worked.
My Tasty Win/Fail
I decided to try making Rosé Gummies. It looked SUPER simple and I love me some Rosé. 🙂
Here is how it went:
The original recipe (find the original recipe and a video here) says that you will need:
- 1 Cup of Rosé
- ½ cup Sugar
- 1 ½ oz unflavored Gelatin – I purchased individual packets and needed 6 packets
- Fruit – optional
Other things you need:
- Ice cube tray or other mold
- Glass measuring cup
- Sharp Knife
Per the recipe I poured my 1 cup of Rosé into a Pyrex Glass Measuring cup and microwaved for one minute. Add in the ½ cup of Sugar and six packets of Gelatin – stir until dissolved.
Next, pour into your ice cube tray or mold and top off with fruit. Refrigerate for one hour and enjoy. Too good to be true right?
WRONG – These gummies are AMAZING!!!
I added a sharp knife to my list of “other things” that you need because to me – the most difficult part of this recipe was getting the gummies out of the ice cube tray after an hour. It took me just as long to get the gummies out of the mold as it did to get them assembled and into the mold in the first place.
One other comment is that my blueberries did break open when I was trying to get the gummies out of the mold. Bummer but doesn’t change the taste and my overall LOVE for these things!
On a scale of 1-10 this project is a 9. I did dock one point because they were kind of a pain to get out – but totally made up for it in taste and just being overall fun. These would be awesome for a bridal shower or other get together and are guaranteed to impress.
