Another month is wrapping up and with that comes my October Favorites. Nate and I finally got a break from wedding craziness and have been taking in every moment of “doing nothing” on the weekends (aka cleaning and projects around our house). We have plans to finish our basement this winter, and I cannot wait to share updates.
Linens & Hutch Sheets and Bedding
Nate and I desperately needed new sheets for the longest time but I could not find the same Navy Blue color that I liked. I came across Linens & Hutch on Instagram and they were running a 50% off sale. I decided for $30 and free shipping, it didn’t hurt to test them out.
You guys… they are so soft! I ended up ordering another set of sheets, a new comforter and a duvet set from them as well. In total I spend under $150 for all of it. We have only had the sheets on our bed for 3 weeks, so I can’t vouch for how they hold up in the long run – but for the price point, I can’t complain.
I have never been a slipper girl until recently. There is something about being barefoot after a full day of wearing shoes – or in Minnesota right now.. boots – that I really enjoy.
Last year around Christmas time, I got a pair of slippers free with a pajama set at Victoria’s Secret. When it started to cool down a few weeks ago, and Nate wouldn’t turn on our heat, I dug them out and now wear them around the house every single day. So cozy!
Ball Back Earrings
I have a fair number of piercings on my ears (9) and could never find earrings that I could leave in my earlobes and the side of my ear (holes 2, 3 & 4 – does that make sense?) for an extended period of time. I ordered this set on Amazon and haven’t taken them out of my ears since. Not once have my ears become irritated or have I felt like I was being stabbed in the head by a sharp prong while I was sleeping.
Essential Oil Rollerball
I have been researching essential oils for a while and love the idea of taking all of the chemicals out of our home. The health benefits they claim to have are also a plus. I recently picked up this Stress Less Rollerball and I love love love it. I keep it in my bag or on my desk and apply it during the day. It has Ylang Ylang and Geranium and smells amazing. I also love lavender and plan to purchase a bottle in the near future.
To all of my friends that diffuse oils: what is your favorite combo?
I have been looking for decorative lanterns for a long time and finally pulled the trigger on this one and this one to complete my front porch for fall… Too bad it is snowing in MN today… They are sturdy and seem to be weather resistant. The price point is also a bonus! I already have plans to move them inside for our winter and Christmas decor.
I have been on the hunt for a good work bag since I started my job over 2.5 years ago. I have tried the oversize tote with zero pockets and just added my own little bags to organize, carried a backpack – which really just got overstuffed with things that either weren’t work related or that I didn’t need in there – and tried not carrying a bag at all… This bag is new and seems to have everything I need (for now). The bag has a slot for my computer, multiple zipped pockets and really cute button details on the front. I like that it has enough room to fit any folders that I may need, but also not big enough where I can throw stuff in and never look at it again.
Domaine Rabiotte Aix Provence Rose
For all of my (of age) wine drinking friends, this Dry Rose is really good. I picked it up at Total Wine based on an employee recommendation. I was there to pick up the Miraval Rose – also really good – and the employee recommended the “Rabbit”. He said it was practically half the price and in his opinion, tasted better. According to Total Wine’s Expert Rating scale, the Miraval is rated 90 and the Domaine Rabiotte is rated 89. Highly recommend both!
Like I mentioned earlier in the post.. It is totally snowing today in Minnesota. Nellie woke me up twice last night to be let out to play in it… At least she is excited – her mama is not.
Happy Friday and have an awesome weekend! 🙂
